Opal Endeavours offers natural Australian Boulder Opal products and jewellery for sale on-line and from the comfort of your home. Shopping on-line is becoming a growing part of our lives and almost everything you can imagine is available for purchase. We are a husband and wife team who enjoy mining Queensland Boulder Opal. We have been involved in the opal business since 1990 professionally cutting boulder opal to supply wholesalers and the jewellery trade. We obtained our own first mine in 1996 and since that time have been mining and cutting the material from our boulder opal mine. We spend time mining out in the field and then bring the rough material back to the city where we process it and sell it on. The uniqueness of opal is that no two opals are identical so each piece provides it's own beauty and individuality. We also have Queensland Fairy Opal which is found in association with Pipe Opal. In the raw state the opal is not always visible in the sandstone and some material needs to be carbonised (blackened) to bring out the colour. Other pieces are left in their natural colour. Fairy opal is sometimes soft and therefore all material is stabilised with a polymer resin to maintain strength and durability.
